Syble Bracken - Artistic Director
Syble
Bracken – Founder/Artistic Director Syble founded Plateau
Ballet Repertory Theatre in 1995 and established their Outreach
Program that same year. The Ballet Workshop, Inc. has been under
her direction since it’s inception in 1988. She has an extensive
background in classical ballet and jazz with additional studies
in tap dance, anatomy, kinesiology and nutrition. Notable instructors
include Dance Professor of the University of Florida, Nancy Turner;
Oakland Ballet Academy Director, Ronn Guidi; Oakland Raiderettes
Choreographer, George Minomie; CEO and Co-Founder of Washington
Academy of Performing Arts, Marcia Quigley-Neal; former soloist
for the Frankfurt Ballet, Marcia Nolte. Syble has staged and choreographed
over 30 full-length story ballets for her school and company and
has worked with academic schools and theater organizations as choreographer
on numerous musicals. She has danced semi-professionally with the
Turner Dance Troupe in Florida and professionally with Range of
Motion, a locally based modern ballet company. Syble continues
her studies with master classes at PNB, Spectrum, Creative Dance
Center and by attending workshops based in Bartenieff Fundamentals,
anatomy and movement for children.
Amanda Kelly – Tap Instructor
Amanda has grown up with The
Ballet Workshop where she has been studying for the past 14 years.
Amanda was a member of PBRT for six years and was promoted to Principal
dancer in 2006. She has attended Summer Dance Labs at Whitman College
and has been a member of the EHS Dance Team. Amanda substitutes
in the ballet and jazz classes when she’s not teaching tap.
She has a passion for teaching children and hopes to continue her
education in the field of dance and work towards becoming a full-time
instructor upon graduation this school year.
Melissa Snoen – Tap Instructor
Melissa has been dancing at The Ballet Workshop
for the past 9 years where she has received her classical training. She is a
Principal dancer with PBRT and helps rehearse the Company. Melissa has attended
the Summer Dance Lab at Whitman College where she had the opportunity to dance
with Western Ballet Theatre. She has attended Long Beach Ballet’s Summer
Intensive program and achieved placement in their highest level. Melissa has
a passion for dance and a desire to express that passion through choreography.
